How to Keep Going When Life Feels Unfair

There are moments in life when everything feels unfair. You work hard, do the right things, and yet, life still knocks you down. I know what that feels like. When I lost everything and found myself walking into a federal prison, I couldn’t help but ask, why me, God? It felt like the ultimate injustice.

But here’s what I’ve learned: Life may not always be fair, but God is always faithful. And that’s what kept me going.

How to Keep Moving Forward When Life Feels Unfair:

  1. Accept What You Can’t Change

Some things are out of your control. Fighting against them only drains your strength. Instead, focus on what you CAN change—your mindset, your faith, and your next step.

  1. Stop Asking, “Why Me?” and Start Asking “What’s Next?”

I spent months asking God why—until I realized that the answer didn’t matter as much as what I did next. Shift your focus from the problem to the solution.

  1. Hold On to Faith (Even When It’s Hard)

God didn’t promise life would be easy, but He did promise He would never leave you. Keep trusting Him, even when you don’t understand.

  1. Find Strength in the Small Wins

Some days, just getting out of bed is a victory. Celebrate the small steps forward, because they lead to bigger breakthroughs.

  1. Keep Walking—Even If It’s One Step at a Time

You may not see the way out yet but keep going. The breakthrough always comes after the struggle.

No matter how unfair life feels right now, don’t give up. You are stronger than you think, and with God by your side, you will overcome.
